Fresh Decorating Looks – Designer’s Guild Wallpaper
We were really pleased with a beautiful wallpaper – it’s Designer’s Guild Basilica – pale crocus, with an incredible light beading on the pattern which catches the light. Subtle and very elegant . We were commissioned to decorate our client’s Dressing Area leading from the Master Bedroom.
This wallcovering is inspired, according to Designers Guild ” by our much loved Basilica silk jacquard weave” “printed in five colourways with soft, lustrous beaded effect”

Let’s Decorate
If you are hankering for a new look – it makes sense to get an expert in. Especially if you have had building work done too! Unless you are like my Dad and his collection of Practical Householder magazines, keen to get sanding, smoothing, filling (then rinse and repeat) before getting the vacuum out again and gingerly unravelling. The wallcovering that is. Specialist skills are required – and if you want the best results you definitely need a craftsman decorator , (time served, skilled and with muscles!!) to get the smooth all over paint finish or hang that FAB new wallpaper & transform your lounge! (or other family room of your choice!)
We will help you measure the quantity required. We will confirm a convenient date with you, supply our decorator to sheet up, protect all surfaces , prepare & paint the surfaces then apply the wallpaper for you. – as always, we will leave a clean & tidy room, taking the waste away for recycling, leaving you with sensational results!!
The best wallcovering project a craftsman decorating team could wish for
Recently I spent time with Allyson McDermott, and had the privilege of seeing how a fine wallcovering was created in her studios prior to Harborough Decorators team hanging it in a very special location.
Using gold leaf, distemper and traditional flock, the results are truly outstanding, and will last for many many years. The room will inspire many who travel through or sit quietly and we are proud to have been associated with this historic space. A couple of pictures wont do the room justice. The light travels over the surface and is just amazing. There weren’t any offcuts – each drop was made to measure, each drop numbered to correspond to the plan as it went around the room. Made all the team feel very proud when it was finished!
Wallpaper – decorate to transform a London town house.
We were really excited to hang this hand printed wallcovering for one of our clients homes. A luxury wallpaper which (prior to hanging) required edge trimming by hand, this was an American manufactured 32″wide (English papers are usually 21″ wide).
Scott Maddux Associates – award winning designer had specified the whole design scheme, where traditional decorating skills including expert wallpaper hanging were required.
Great team to work with, we include Scott and Jo amongst our “Most Fun To Work With Designers”.
Award Winning Decorating
Award winning Results!
Easton Neston House, has won a RIBA award- and the quality of conservation work has been recognised. A major restoration project, we know that it takes more than just a skilled painter and decorator to be chosen to work in one of the finest country houses in England!
Our team has enjoyed bringing the home and European Headquarters to Leon Max to a magnificent standard, and was pleased to see it recently featured on television. With clear instruction from Ptolemey Dean Architects and inspired interior design, the rooms are a combination of refined elegance and Wow!
Heritage qualified, directed by Mac Devereux, the Team certainly understand the usual decorating history of construction of a traditional Listed Building and enjoy using both modern and traditional materials including limewash or gilding. At Easton Neston House, Towcester, it was a massive project! We had plenty of opportunity to appreciate and share extensive knowledge amongst a strong team of historic and heritage craftsmen.
Wallpaper & Wallcoverings
Fancy a Feature Wall with designer wallpaper? – although we have worked around the Market Harborough area for over 35 years, we are very well known for our work in Rutland and London. Simple or elaborate wallpapering requires great skill and patience, it’s an utterly fantastic instant transformation, especially if you want a jaw dropping feature wall! Great impact for a Bedroom Birthday Surprise or a lift for a guest room when a family wedding is the big event of the year.
It takes years of training to achieve stunning results – special preparation and quiet patience before applying luxurious papers, fabric and gilding finishes to walls. We have enjoyed creating amazing results with flock paper, hand prints, painted silk wallcoverings and metallic thread coverings. Involve us in the early stages, and we can share over 35 years’ experience with you. Call and speak to Mac Devereux-Batchelor – we love to chat through new ideas!
Choosing the look for your home – story boards, mood boards paper & paint!
We are often asked what paint should we use? Little Greene paints are a high quality well established and reliable favourite, with Johnstone’s or Dulux paints very popular for modern apartments and conversions with sleek surfaces. Church or historic listed building work often calls for Limewash and specialist Keim paints, all involve our proven craftsman skills. Papers and Paints provide a renowned colour matching service, know their stuff and are highly regarded across the World for their expertise.
Beautifully designed wallpapers and wallcoverings give us the opportunity to shine and to transform your favourite places and spaces! You must allow extra time for preparationof the underlying surface, otherwise every surface blemish will be highlighted with a high sheen wallcovering, and of course, its very important to have already decided and installed any new lighting before the decorating project starts.
